THE SYNOPSIS. . .

FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH, IT'S NEVER TOO LATE OR TOO EARLY TO BE WHOEVER YOU WANT TO BE. Five and Alexandra Hargreeves are aware of this concept more than most. Growing up under the strict rule of their dictator-like father, they had to hide any forms of weakness and true self from the rest of their family in fear they would be mocked or punished. Each of the seven Hargreeves children presented a front which they deemed as 'acceptable' to show the others, never truly being themselves. Five Hargreeves was the only one who had the courage to ignore the norm and stand up for himself, though witty remarks and snarky comebacks were to be expected.

At the age of fifteen, he'd finally had enough of living by his father's rules and made his own by time travelling into the future. However, the apocalyptic wasteland he had to survive in stunted his growth as he worked tirelessly to return to those he loved (though this was a fact he was loath to admit.) There were, however, consequences even more dire than lost childhood for he had left the one person who relied on him- loved him- behind to grow up alone.

Alexandra Hargreeves remained under her father's so-called 'care' until the rest of her siblings began to leave The Umbrella Academy around the age of seventeen. She was late coming into herself, having been devastated by Number Five's departure and absence as she sought to bring him home. Always a hard worker and self-motivated, Alexa was able to build a life for herself separate from the Academy. The repercussions from this caused her to lose touch with her siblings she once promised to protect, though faith in her abilities had long since been dashed.

Now, seventeen (and forty-five) years later, three coincidental events happen:

Reginald Hargreeves dies.

Alexandra Hargreeves reunites with her estranged siblings.

Number Five returns home as a harbinger for the end of the world.

Authors spend many hours working on chapters for free (because we (usually) love to do it!); doing this diminishes their dedication to create unique characters and plots.
